We founded Blackbelly Ranch in 2021 after the height of the Covid pandemic. After a several-months-long search for the perfect place to spread out and start our journey toward a more sustainable, practical life, we moved to our little slice of Texas heaven just outside the Houston area — and we haven’t looked back!

We’ve expanded from sheep to raising chickens, keeping honey bees, and growing and preserving some of our own food. Every day looks a bit different, but it’s always full of purpose.

Our three wild boys have been along for the ride and right in the middle of it all. We do it ALL together.

At the heart of Blackbelly Ranch are the values that guide everything we do:

• • Stewardship — We believe in responsibly caring for the animals, soil, and resources entrusted to us. Every decision — from how we raise our livestock to how we manage our property — reflects our commitment to being good stewards.

• • Faith — We trust in God’s provision and timing as we build this life on the land. Our faith grounds us through the challenges and blessings of homesteading.

• • Sustainability — We’re on a journey toward a more self-sufficient lifestyle. While we’re not fully sustainable yet, we’re continually finding practical ways to reduce waste, grow our own food, and live more intentionally with the land.

• • Sharing — We love growing as a family and sharing what we learn with others. Whether it’s tips on raising Blackbelly sheep, homesteading adventures, or the ups and downs of farm life, we hope to inspire and encourage families near and far who are curious about a simpler, more connected way of living.
