About Us

How it all Began…


We founded Blackbelly Ranch in 2021 after the height of Covid. After a several-months long search for the perfect place to spread out and start our journey to a more sustainable, but practical life, we uprooted to move to our little slice of Texas heaven outside of the Houston area and haven’t looked back!

Within 3 weeks of settling into our property, we dove in head first and bought our first starter herd of, you guessed it, Blackbelly sheep! We’ve been on an adventure ever since, expanding from sheep to chickens, honey bees, and growing and preserving some of our own food.

While not fully sustainable just yet, we’re slowly scaling towards that way with autonomy in mind. With the help of our three wild boys and our even crazier livestock guardian dogs, each of us in the family plays a key role in keeping the ship running. We're not experts (yet) but we're on our way and hope to share our journey with all of y'all in the process!
